Behind The Lens

Hello, my name is Kane Scheidegger and I am a landscape and ski photographer based out of Telluride/Ridgway Colorado. I was born and raised in the beautiful town of Ridgway, CO. I enjoy spending time in the mountains chasing monsoons in the summer and powder in the winter. I have been shooting professional large scale panoramic photos since 2010. I proudly produce all of my own work in my gallery/studio space and specialize in large works for that grand space in your home or office.

Kane specializes in larger than life images to capture Mother Nature's most striking moments. Most of Kane's images are produced anywhere from 2ft x 6ft all the way up to 18ft x 8ft for a true to life experience. Most images are large panoramas taken throughout the world, with a focus on Southwest Colorado, where Kane calls home. During the winter and spring months Kane works closely with athletes to capture some of the biggest ski descents in the lower 48. Kane has spent the last 2 springs in Alaska dialing in some of the most picturesque ski descents to be captured on camera. Kane works closely with athletes, guides, pilots to give you an unforgettable viewing experience. During the summer months, you can find him hiking and camping in the alpine to capture Earth's most magnificent moments. When not in the mountains you will find him and his family whitewater rafting down one of the incredible rivers of the mountain west. As fall rolls around, you can find him searching for the perfect aspen grove or long-lost waterfall surrounding his lens with the wonderful hues of Autumn, what a magical time of year. Kane also travels extensively during the year to chase weather to long lost valleys or searching for that deserted beach that embodies paradise.

Kane graduated from Ridgway High School in 2000 and then earned a bachelor of science in graphic arts in Fort Lauderdale before returning to Colorado and setting up a graphics company. It was during this time that he pursued his passion of photography, and has been self-taught through perseverance and many outings in search of perfect light, color and composition.

Kane enjoys sharing his passion with his 7 year old son Kye. Currently spending lots of time overlanding and exploring the great Southwestern part of the United States. Enjoying the magical experience of mountains to the desert. Kane enjoys creating adventures that create memorable experiences wherever that may lead.

His lenses captures everything from extreme ski descents to tranquil scenes magical landscapes to quiet ski approaches through sastrugi carved bowls. Capturing natures magical moments for everyone to enjoy.
